China’s New Growth Pathway: From the 14th Five-Year Plan to Carbon Neutrality
In December 2020, Energy Foundation China launched this new report, which provides an overall picture of pathways to support China’s 2060 carbon neutrality pledge and its new vision for growth and development. The report was led by Energy Foundation China and coordinated by the Center for Global Sustainability at the University of Maryland, with contributions from 21 expert authors from 8 different organizations.
This report sets out the broad outlines of decarbonization, identifies key elements of long-term strategies and near-term actions across the economy and within individual economic sectors, and points forward toward continued research to support China’s success in meeting its 2060 pledge and long-term goals for growth and development.
