In 2024, International Energy Agency (IEA) and Tsinghua University jointly released the report “The Future of Heat Pumps in China.” The report was supported by Energy Foundation China.
The report provides an overview of heat pump application in buildings, district heating, and industry. It also analyzes the potential barriers of heat pump development in China and provides recommendation for accelerating heat pump deployment. This report aims at providing scientific guidance for heat pump development in China, facilitating heat pump technology advancement, accelerating market deployment, and contributing to the achievement of the dual carbon goals in China.
