In September 2022, with the support of Energy Foundation China, the China Quality Certification Center released this summary report on how to make the manufacturing industry in Guangxi province greener. The southwestern province features sugar, machinery, metallurgical, and non-ferrous sectors that lead to high energy consumption and carbon emissions.

Using the new structural economics framework, this report analyzes the existing problems in Guangxi’s development, summarizes green development pathways of four typical provinces, and puts forward recommendations for the green transition of Guangxi's manufacturing industry. The authors hope this report can help provide scientific evidence and practical examples as Guangxi formulates its policies for carbon peaking.
