Advancing New Energy Vehicles in Hainan Province With an Innovative Solution: Battery Swapping

In June 2021, China Auto Information Technology (Tianjin) Co., Ltd.
released this report compiled with support from Energy Foundation China about how Hainan Province can use battery swapping to address the charging bottleneck for electric vehicles.
The report first summarizes experiences of the cutting-edge battery swapping solution in China and abroad. Based on Hainan’s conditions, this report then proposes an implementation plan for the province to pilot battery swapping, which can help accelerate the island province’s transition toward full vehicle electrification by 2030.
