In March 2021, the China Council for an Energy Efficient Economy completed this landscape report with support from Energy Foundation China.

It first describes the energy landscape of the Southeast Asia region and its representative countries including Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam, then analyzes features of the countries’ energy service company (ESCO) markets and industries, as well as opportunities and challenges against the backdrop of the Belt and Road Initiative and the global fight against climate change. The report concludes with recommendations for regional collaboration based on China’s experience in ESCO development.

This report lays a foundation for an Asia-Pacific ESCO Industry Alliance and its future collaboration programs.
