In July 2020, with support from Energy Foundation China, Ningbo International Investment Consulting Company completed this roadmap study that aims to help improve the city’s cooling efficiency.

The report first reviews Ningbo’s current cooling status and estimates future improvement potential of the bustling eastern city that hosts one of China’s biggest air conditioning manufacturers. It then designs a roadmap for systematically implementing various cooling energy efficiency improvement action.

Featuring advanced technology, innovative business models, and new financing tools, the research presents how to achieve efficient, low carbon, and green cooling in a typical Chinese city, an effort that will encourage other cities to follow suit.
