Research on Strategies and Pathways for Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction in Animal Husbandry in Inner Mongolia
In 2023, the Academy of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Sciences of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region published a report on “Research on Strategies and Pathways for Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction in Animal Husbandry in Inner Mongolia.” This study was supported by Energy Foundation China.
Focusing on large-scale breeding farms for dairy cows, beef cattle, and sheep, the report studies the development and greenhouse gas emission characteristics of Inner Mongolia’s livestock industry, proposes greenhouse gas emission strategies and measures based on analysis of typical cases, and offers management policy suggestions.
This is the first time that Inner Mongolia’s animal husbandry industry has been comprehensively and systematically studied for carbon and other pollution reduction paths and measures. The report provides important support for the green and low-carbon transformation of Inner Mongolia’s animal husbandry industry.
