GHG Emissions of E-Commerce Enterprises in China
In 2020, Energy Foundation China supported Carbonstop to research on GHG emissions of e-commerce enterprises in China. Their findings were released in this report in March 2021.
The report analyzes main categories of e-commerce enterprises’ GHG emissions, calculates their emissions generated in logistics, data centers, offices, packaging, and warehousing, predicts their future emission levels, and gives some recommendations for how to reduce e-commerce emissions.
The first report that systematically calculates GHG emissions of e-commerce companies in China, it presents an viable accounting method for the emissions, including what to—and not to—include in the emissions, laying a good foundation for follow-up research.
