On September 13, the 3rd Meeting of the Dialogue Series on Global and China Agenda of Green and Low Carbon Development was held in San Francisco

During the Global Climate Action Summit in California, a “High-Level US-China Subnational Climate Dialogue” was successfully held on September 12.

From September 12 to 14, leaders and people will gather in San Francisco from around the world to “Take Ambition to the Next Level.” The Global Climate Action Summit (GCAS) “will be a moment to celebrate the extraordinary achievements of states, regions, cities, companies, investors and citizens with respect to climate action. It will also be a launchpad for deeper worldwide commitments and accelerated action from countries—supported by all sectors of society—that can put the globe on track to prevent dangerous climate change and realize the historic Paris Agreement.”

On July 28, 2018, the China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development (CCICED) held the inception meeting for its special policy study on Global Climate Governance and China’s Role in Beijing. Ministry of Ecology and Environment representatives, CCICED Secretariat members, Chinese and international leads of the project, a special advisor of CCICED, and the council’s donors and partners discussed research topics and the focus of the project.

On May 17, Energy Foundation China (EF China) and the Center for Environmental Education and Communications of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment (CEEC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on strategic communications in Beijing.

Shifting the climate change functions to the Ministry of Ecology and Environment gives the new Ministry a significant political mandate that provides an institutional guarantee for ecological civilization, green development, and a global community with shared future for humankind.

Bernice Lee, Executive Director of the Hoffmann Centre for Sustainable Resource Economy, has joined the Energy Foundation’s China Committee.

On March 23, Energy Foundation China, Center for Finance and Development of Tsinghua University, and European Climate Foundation held the second meeting of the Dialogue Series on Global and China Agenda of Green and Low Carbon Development in Beijing, focusing on China’s Leadership and Infrastructure Investment.

Energy Foundation China and European Climate Foundation held a seminar titled “Dialogue Between China and the World: Enhancing the Momentum to Implement the Paris Agreement” in Beijing on March 27.

On March 27-28, the “China’s Mid-Century Strategy for Climate Mitigation: Framing and Methodologies” seminar was held in Beijing, with support from Energy Foundation China, 2050 Pathways Platform, and the International Energy Agency.
