From September 12 to 14, leaders and people will gather in San Francisco from around the world to “Take Ambition to the Next Level.” The Global Climate Action Summit (GCAS) “will be a moment to celebrate the extraordinary achievements of states, regions, cities, companies, investors and citizens with respect to climate action. It will also be a launchpad for deeper worldwide commitments and accelerated action from countries—supported by all sectors of society—that can put the globe on track to prevent dangerous climate change and realize the historic Paris Agreement.”

On July 28, 2018, the China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development (CCICED) held the inception meeting for its special policy study on Global Climate Governance and China’s Role in Beijing. Ministry of Ecology and Environment representatives, CCICED Secretariat members, Chinese and international leads of the project, a special advisor of CCICED, and the council’s donors and partners discussed research topics and the focus of the project.
