Zou Ji, CEO and President of Energy Foundation China (EF China), shared his suggestions on green development along the “Belt and Road” when invited to China’s third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing from October 17 to 18, 2023.

Zou said that host countries of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) face challenges in renewable energy deployment, decarbonization pathways, and policy issues. For the next decade, there will be huge potential for green development under BRI, on top of what has been achieved in greening the initiative over the past 10 years, he believed. EF China will continue to promote renewable energy, especially distributed renewable energy, in China and other BRI countries, he said, who also committed to analysis and education programs that can help with green investment in infrastructure and industries and cultivate cooperation between China and BRI Countries with the goal of achieving global economic recovery.

The Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation is the highest-level and largest multilateral diplomatic event initiated and hosted by China in recent years. It is an international cooperation platform for all parties to discuss, build, and share their vision for BRI. This year’s third edition was on the theme of “Together for Common Development and Prosperity.”
