The discussion was focused on synergistic pollution reduction and carbon mitigation, as well as energy and industrial restructuring in Shanxi, a top coal producer in China. The two sides agreed to put more efforts in Linfen, which is China’s first official pilot city on the theme of reducing pollution and carbon emissions together. The city of four million people has relied on energy resources for its economy and suffered from air pollution.
