Strengthening Narratives to Promote Climate Actions and Accelerate the Energy Transition

时间 2022-11-14
起始时间 23:15 结束时间 01:00
地点 Albatros Laguna Vista Sharm El Sheikh hotel, Meeting Room 1

Background

In 2022, deadly heat and the deepening energy crisis facing many countries around the world have packed a double punch, forcing some of the world’s largest economies into a desperate scramble to secure electricity for their citizens. How have these unprecedented events influenced the public’s perception of climate change and the energy transition? Is the global energy narrative shifting towards or away from carbon-intensive sources? How can we strengthen narratives to promote climate action and accelerate the energy transition against this backdrop? Are there new opportunities or threats?

In this communications-focused session, we will invite communications experts, practitioners, and philanthropy partners to discuss what the energy transition narrative looks like globally, and how to build a deeper and stabler connection between people and climate actions.
