Program Officer, Environmental Management

Ms. Xiya Zhang is a Program Officer of Energy Foundation China’s Environmental Management Program. She supports the Program Director on strategy development, fundraising, and grants management. Prior to joining Energy Foundation China in December 2021, she worked at the Environmental Law and Governance Project at the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), where she developed and implemented strategic approaches to promote laws and policies in environmental and climate governance, and managed various national and international environmental projects in the fields of air pollution control, climate change mitigation, environmental damage assessment and compensation, and environmental public interest litigations.

Ms. Zhang holds a Master’s degree in International Environmental and Sustainability Science from Lund University in Sweden, and a Bachelor’s degree in International Economics and Trade from Beihang University in Beijing, where she also minored in Aeronautic Engineering.
