Job Title: Consultant, International Cooperation
Location: Beijing, China
Reports To: Officer, International Cooperation
Duration: 6 months (with possibility to extend)
SCOPE OF WORK:
The Consultant is responsible for supporting International Cooperation task force’s Southeast Asia efforts. His/her scope of work includes:
ResearchSupport
- Produce monthly newsletter of key developments in climate and energy transition in Southeast Asia and other key regions;
- Conduct face-based and targeted research relevant to International Cooperation task force’s key working areas, taking ownership of the assigned topics, follow through and deliver the satisfactory end-product;
- Provide advice to other programs on international climate affairs, and support the related activities;
- Review and summarize the technical reports of the assigned projects and develop the communication plans to deliver the impacts;
- Continuously seek opportunities to expand knowledge and experience in building domain expertise to ensure the thought leadership in the assigned areas.
Meetings and Events Organization
- Coordinate with internal and external experts and conduct expert interviews;
- Take part in organizing thematic salons and expert meetings on a regular basis;
- Assist in organizing domestic and international dialogues, meetings, workshops and conferences, coordinating with colleagues and external partners;
- Assist in arranging experts/consultants visits, study tours and funder trips.
Others
- Other project content related tasks as assigned;
- Back up other colleagues as needed.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Education: Master’s degree or equivalent,preferably in a related field: international affairs, public policies, diplomacy, environment, energy, climate change, and economics; deep interest in climate change and energy.
- Working experience: Above 8 years of related experience. Experiences in global climate/energy governance and climate change preferred.
- Language level: native-level Chinese language skills required; excellent command of spoken and written English.
- Communication: ability to communicate logically and articulate key messages/points with clear structure and fact-based supporting arguments, listen actively to audience’s purpose, and communicate effectively in public.
- Project management: ability to propose project direction, lay out project plan with milestones, timelines and tracking mechanisms, and to accomplish the project on time and in good quality.
- Problem solving: ability to define and prioritize the key issues when facing complex situations, make analysis with logical reasoning, propose possible solutions and resolve some complicated issues independently.
- Networking: ability to initiate partnership, cultivate networks and deepen the relationships with key stakeholders to effectively leverage resources.
