The Air Quality Task Force of Energy Foundation China pursues world-class air quality and carbon neutrality for China by implementing a co-control strategy for air and climate pollutants. The task force supports cross-cutting research on air quality, climate change, health, energy, the economy, and urban-rural coordination topics.

With support from Energy Foundation China (EF China), China Sustainable Transportation Center (CSTC) released its report of Evaluating Low Carbon Transportation in Communities in collaboration with the School of Architecture at Tsinghua University, CityDNA, and the Green Research Center of Southern Weekly on December 30, 2021.

On November 24, 2021, the Environmental Management Program of Energy Foundation China and the Department of Environmental Management of the School of Environmental Science and Engineering at Peking University organized a non-CO2 seminar, following the first of the environment and climate seminar series a couple of weeks earlier discussing water issues against the backdrop of China’s carbon goals.

On November 8, 2021, the Environmental Management Program of Energy Foundation China and the Department of Environmental Management of the School of Environmental Science and Engineering at Peking University held a carbon neutrality and water seminar to kick off their research for the collaborative governance of environmental and climate issues in China.

In early October, Energy Foundation China (EF China) and grantees Tsinghua University, the Chinese Academy for Environmental Planning (CAEP), and the Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences (CRAES) held a seminar to kick off research on a collaborative control pathway to eliminate heavily polluted days in the greater Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

On September 29, 2021, the International Energy Agency (IEA), Energy Foundation China (EF China), and the Institute of Energy at Peking University released An Energy Sector Roadmap to Carbon Neutrality in China.

In August 2021, the College of Environmental Sciences and Engineering of Peking University and the Foreign Environmental Cooperation Center (FECO), a think tank overseen by China’s Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE), held a workshop reviewing their hydrofluorocarbon (HFC)-23 project supported by Energy Foundation China (EF China).
