<2050 High RE Penetration Report> Experts: renewable energy may take up lion's share

On April 16, EF China and grantee China National Renewable Energy Centre (CNREC), jointly released the China 2050 High Renewable Energy Penetration Scenario and Roadmap Study in Beijing. The study shows that it is both technically and economically feasible for renewable energy to satisfy over 60 percent of China’s primary energy consumption and 85 percent of electricity consumption by 2050. The National Standard Design Standard for Energy Efficiency of Public Building Amendment Supporting Research

With low energy efficient and high energy saving potential, the public buildings are considered as one of the most important energy saving objective by the government and the community. In 2005, the Ministry of Construction published the National Standard Design Standard for Energy Efficiency of Public Buildings (GB50189-­‐2005) ; since then, this standard has been playing very important role in the energy efficiency work of China via systemically restricting the design of the public buildings. To date, the building industry and market have been developed rapidly, a number of new techniques and facilities with high efficient have come into using. This situation requires the technical standards must be updated in time to supply enough provisions and information to the industry for its continuable development. The amendment of the National Standard Design Standard for Energy Efficiency of Public Buildings (GB50189-­‐2005) has been listed in the Plan of 2012 National Project Construction Standards Compiling and Amendment by MOHURD. CABR takes charge in the amendment. This project has investegated and survey the comliance of the standard in the past 7 years, figure out the problem and flaws for the current implementation, proposed a seriers of fundemental research to support the revision of the National Standard.
