In December 2021, with support from Energy Foundation China, the Chinese Academy for Environmental Planning released this report analyzing how the region of Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei Province in Northern China can improve its environment during 2021–2025.

The report reviews environmental policies and actions in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, quantitatively assesses relevant environmental mechanisms and policies for energy and atmospheric management based on an comprehensive analysis of regulations and their effects on environmental improvement and socio-economic development, and puts forward environmental policy recommendations for the region for the next five years.

This report provides scientific evidence for formulating innovative environmental mechanisms and policies in the populous Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
